Competition news

Second win in a row for Wollaton

Wednesday 31st October saw the Wollaton Park Alliance Team win again and this has lifted us to second in the order of merit - just point behind the leaders Newark. Next event is at Rufford Park on Tuesday 13th November - let’s hope we can make it three in a row and top the order of merit.

Texas Scramble booking

The competition on Saturday 17th November is fully booked but there is still availability for Sunday 11th November. Any member who has booked into the Saturday competition may now also book into this Sundays Texas Scramble from 9.00am Thursday 8th November.

Anyone wishing to play social golf on either may do so in a vacant slot by registering in the pro shop on the day or after the last competitors have teed off. Play will only be permitted in two balls during the competition due to the format being a Texas Scramble. No members may play before the competition or start from the 10th tee.

We are limiting competitions to one Saturday and one Sunday a month so ask all members to follow the above rules.

Course news

On completion of round

I’m sure all members have seen the new bunkers around the 9th green. When this work was carried out the path behind the 9th green was removed. The route for leaving the course after playing 9 or 18 holes is to the right of the clubhouse and through the par-3 practice area. The shoe cleaning will be moved shortly to the new shelter created behind the buggy shed. Members are advised this is a compulsory route and no member should leave the course via the putting green or patio.

Electric dreams

Winter golf can be very enjoyable if you're fully prepared, but a thing of nightmares if you're not. We know many of you use a Motocaddy electric trolley to transport your bag around the course, but do you have the correct winter accessories attached to get you through your round?

Spotlight: TaylorMade P760 irons
