Captain's Day Wollaton Park Golf Club Captain's Days Lady Captain’s Day – Wednesday, 3 July 2019 A beautiful sunny day awaited 45 ladies and 12 specially invited gentleman who participated in this year's "alternative Lady Captain’s Day". As is customary Lady Captain, Cheryl handed out gifts to all the ladies on the day. A new “halfway house” was manned by Cheryl and Kevin providing cakes and refreshments for everyone. Thanks go to the Ladies Committee for their cake donations! There was a putting competition and even a new "water feature", for the chipping competition – a great time was had by all.
Thanks to Annie and her team for the lovely buffet lunch and homemade meringues for “Elsie’s Eton Mess”. The day finished with a prize-giving for the Individual Stableford winners and runners up, along with nearest the pins and chipping prizes.

Gents Captains Day – Saturday, 6 July 1st place, Liam Hutchinson and Dan Walsh - 56 points, 2nd place Anton Kells and Jack Cowlishaw - 55 points, 3rd place Shane Pidgeon and Dean Pidgeon - 54 points, 4th place Dave Finch and Mick Grey - 53 points. Nearest the pins on the 2nd, David Cowan and on the 8th Terry Butlin. Raffle prizes as follows: Mick Mitchell fourball at Worksop, Dave Smith fourball at The Nottinghamshire, Phil Dabell fourball at Mapperly. Leon Stolarski lesson with Martyn Brown, Pete Squires £10 voucher for the Pro Shop, Sean Green ladies weekend bag & beauty products, John Todd, GOT book set, The Walmsleys GOT board game and Irish Cream bottle, Sam Mee Prosseco and cheese hamper Dick Durrant and Dave Bennett Box of chocolate biscuits. There was only one sealed bid for the fourball at Hollinwell and that goes to Richard Coleman. All unclaimed prizes to be collected from the office. Many thanks to all that donated prizes. Cash raised on the day for the charity was £1,387. Thanks to all members generosity.
